The advertised post is for a fixed term locum consultant interventional neuroradiologist to join the existing team of 3/4 neurointerventional radiologists supporting the thrombectomy service at Barts Health.
The post will be based at St. Bartholomew's and The Royal London Hospital. The post holder will specialise in neuroradiology both diagnostic and neuro-intervention. aeeHThese areTHThis is a fixed term post This is a fixed term post initially to enable the on-going development of a 24/7 Thrombectomy service at Barts Health NHS Trust.
Main duties of the job
Our vision will be to have 6 neuro interventional radiologists on a 1 in 6 on-call rota. We currently provide a daily 8am till 8pm service. The successful applicant should have completed subspecialist training in both diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology and will join the team of 13 neuroradiologists including 3 neuro-interventional radiologists and 4 head and neck radiologists who currently provide a comprehensive neuroimaging service to the Trust. We are currently advertising for a clinical fellow and will provide a neuro intervention training fellowship in the future.
Barts Health NHS Trust is one of the biggest NHS Trusts in the UK, supporting about 2.5M people. It has a Regional Neurosciences Unit, a level one Trauma centre and a Hyperacute Stroke Unit with an NHSE approved mechanical Thrombectomy service located at The Royal London site. The Cyberknife Unit and PET service and the Heart Hospital are located at St Bartholomew's site.
This post is advertised to attract individuals with the capability to assist in developing interventional neuroradiology services across and North East London network. They will need to work with clinicians across North East London and beyond to safeguard and develop appropriate referral flows. They will have completed subspecialist training in diagnostic and neuro-interventional radiology
