Job summary
We are looking for a dedicated candidate for the post of Clinical Fellow with a sub-speciality interest in Medical Retina and Emergency/ Trauma. Primary objectives are to obtain high quality clinical, leadership and research experience, meeting the increasing Retinal and Emergency needs of the Ophthalmology department at the Royal London Hospital
Main duties of the job
- To support the Adult Medical Retina service, as well as the Ocular Immunology, Glaucoma, Cataract, Neuro-ophthalmology and Emergency services at the Royal London Hospital
- To participate in emergency ophthalmic care and the 3 tier on call rota (1st on call)
- To gain experience in procedures including cataract surgery, intravitreal injections, lasers, management of ophthalmic emergencies and ophthalmic trauma
- To participate in the development of semi-virtual retina clinics during the post-COVID recovery.
- To actively participate in clinical trials, research and teaching
- To gain key leadership and management experience in supporting the further development of the Medical Retina service at RLH
