Senior Occupational Therapist – Community Neuro Rehabilitation

Job summary

We are thrilled to offer a unique opportunity for a part time compassionate and patient-focused Senior Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic Neuro Rehabilitation Team within the Dudley Rehabilitation Service.

We are a multidisciplinary team who provide rehabilitation in the community in patients own homes and outpatient clinic settings. As a core member our integrated team, you will conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualised treatment plans promoting independence towards meaningful goals.

You will be an autonomous practitioner, managing your own caseload, using evidence-based practice to guide your interventions. You will engage in clinical supervision, continuous professional development, contribute to service development initiatives and quality improvement projects.

You will be supported by senior staff and have the opportunity to showcase your own leadership skills by supervising junior staff and students.

Main duties of the job

A Senior Neuro Occupational Therapist (Band 6) is responsible for delivering specialist occupational therapy services to adults with neurological conditions, such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, and other complex neurological disorders.

Key duties include conducting comprehensive assessments of motor, sensory, cognitive, and functional abilities; developing and implementing individualized treatment plans; and coordinating safe and effective discharge planning in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.The role also involves providing expertise in specialist seating and equipment recommendations, managing a defined caseload, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Additionally, the therapist may supervise and support junior staff and students, contribute to service development initiatives, and engage in continuous professional development activities.This position requires HCPC registration and proven experience in neurorehabilitation within an acute or community setting.
