Job summary
The post holder will provide day to day co-ordination of all technical aspects of operating the Simulation Centre, including support with the delivery of simulation training and maintenance of equipment and facilities. It will involve working closely within Medical Leads, faculty, course delegates and other centre based staff.
Main duties of the job
Set-up & Operation of Simulation EquipmentPrepare, operate, & maintain high-fidelity manikins, clinical task trainers, AV systems, and supporting IT equipment for simulation sessions.
Technical Support During SessionsProvide real-time technical assistance during simulations, including operating manikin software, adjusting physiological parameters & troubleshooting equipment.
Scenario Programming & ManagementAssist in the development & programming of simulation scenarios in coordination with faculty & clinical educators.
AV Recording & Debrief SupportOperate AV equipment to record sessions for debrief & learning & manage playback during post-simulation reviews.
Equipment Maintenance & Inventory ManagementPerform routine checks, maintenance &repairs on simulation equipment manage inventory, ordering & safe storage of all simulation resources.
Environment Setup & ResetPrepare & restore simulated clinical environments (e.g., wards, theatres, emergency settings) to replicate realistic scenarios.
Health and Safety ComplianceEnsure all equipment is used safely & in compliance with infection prevention, manual handling & data protection protocols.
Liaison & CoordinationWork closely with educators, clinicians, learners to support the delivery of simulation training, including scheduling, setup, feedback.
Innovation & DevelopmentSupport the continuous improvement of simulation services by staying up to date with new technologies & contributing to service development projects.

- Science Council/ASPiH registered Science Technician or commitment to achieve registration.
Knowledge and Training
