BAND 5 - THEATRE PRACTITIONER (EMERGENCY & OTHER SPECIALITIES)

Full time - 37.5 Hours - Part time considered

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 ODP's or Registered Nurses for our Theatres. All practitioners have an opportunity to undertake training and development that will allow progression towards this role. The successful candidates must be registered with the Nursing Midwifery Council or the Health and Care Professions Council.

We are the Specialist Vascular Centre for the Black Country covering Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton and we have dedicated vascular theatre with close links to the Interventional Radiology suite. We have become the Midland Orthopaedic Centre and an Endometriosis Centre.

Our Theatres comprise of 10 main theatres, 4 Day Surgery theatres, 2 Obstetric theatres and support to a Minor Procedure Room. We have a further Day Surgery Theatre and Ward at our satellite site less than 3 miles from the main site.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for the care needs of patients within Theatres and Day Surgery Theatres. He/she will be expected to carry out all relevant forms of care and will be expected to demonstrate/ teach registered/unregistered staff and supervise junior staff as applicable to level of competence.

The post holder will participate in maintaining an environment that is conducive to the delivery and maintenance of a high standard of individualised holistic patient care, and to the establishment of good communications and relationships between staff, patients, relatives and visitors.
