Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our supportive team. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual.
The post will be in our ED/Urgent Care therapy team, with opportunity to work on acute medical unit, assessment unit and emergency department.
Applicants ideally to be a qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration, or in the process of applying for HCPC registration. You should have some experience of working in an acute setting as a qualified Occupational Therapist or as a student. The successful candidate will be expected to be an autonomous practitioner, carrying own caseload, working as part of multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will have regular supervision to support development.
Contribution to seven-day services is expected, with possibility of shift patterns.
This post is fixed term for 24 months from start date.

Main duties of the job
This is a qualified post and provides an opportunity for the Therapist to consolidate core skills and competencies.
The key function of this role is mainly clinical and concentrates on the assessment of patients referred to the service.
The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner and will have the support of a senior therapist, and be part of the planning and implementation of therapy intervention in partnership with patients under their care.
These posts are rotational to ensure a rounded learning opportunity.
