Job summary

This is a great development opportunity for any newly qualified or existing band 5 nurse who wants to embed their core skills and gain experience in an intermediate care setting.

Intermediate care will provide the post holder with the opportunity to deliver high standard of nursing care to patients in a stepdown unit. You will be able to work autonomously using clinical judgement and problem solving skills, treating a range of health conditions, working along side an integrated multidisciplinary team.

You must have effective communication and interpersonal skills, be prepared to work flexibly and collaboratively to meet the needs of the service and demonstrate a willingness to extend and develop your existing skills. In return, we will offer you development opportunities, clinical supervision and mentorship support and deliver a formal induction programme.

The post holder is required to work as part of a team committed to delivering and improving high standards of care within Dudley group NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

Providing nursing interventions to patients with a variety of medical conditions at Tiled House. Tiled House is a 47 bedded inpatient intermediate care unit.

The post holder will help to provide a 7-day service on the unit between the hours of 8am and 6pm, working as part of a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will assess the patients on admission continuing treatment as required throughout the patient stay, and assist with the discharge process from intermediate care referring on to community services as appropriate.
