Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly motivated, and adaptable Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team atThe Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust.

Provide and assure a high quality of pharmaceutical service:

  • Operational management of the dispensary including operational rotas, workflow and the deployment of staff
  • Implementation and monitoring of procedures to provide patient focused care.
  • Quality audits and service developments.
  • Training, monitoring and development of technical staff working in the dispensary. Be responsible for staff appraisals and review staff objectives.
  • HR management of direct line reports.
  • Monitor and manage key performance indicators for the dispensary.
  • To assist with the day to day running of the digital and automated systems supporting the dispensary.
  • Perform duties of an Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT).

  • Experience of the use of electronic prescribing and other electronic computer systems such as JAC, ePMA, Compass or alike.

Qualifications

  • Post qualification experience at in a hospital pharmacy with a minimum of two years in a supervisory/lead role within a specialised area of pharmacy.
  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent AND BTEC National Certificate in Pharmacy services
  • Accredited Checking qualification
  • Management or leadership qualification/ training relevant to the NHS
