Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic registered Pharmacist that is keen to lead our aseptics & QA service, as part of our Strategic Pharmacy leadership team. You will be supported by a dedicated team of specialist pharmacists, principal pharmacy technicians, pharmacy technicians, science manufacturing technician(s) and pharmacy assistants.
As our Accountable Pharmacist, you will work closely with the Principal Pharmacist for Cancer Services, Principal Pharmacy Technician for Aseptics and Principal Pharmacy Technician for Quality Assurance. Experience in aseptic services is essential and you will demonstrate vision for this service, drive others to ensure transformation, enjoy quality improvement and have an ability to motivate others. You will work both independently and as part of a number of multidisciplinary teams in order to deliver innovative therapies and continue the development of services for our patients.
Main duties of the job
You will manage the Pharmacy Aseptic Unit, which provides a variety of services including the compounding of cytotoxic chemotherapy, supported by our team of pharmacy technicians and assistants. You will be part of an active multi-disciplinary team that provides aseptically dispensed medicines to patients within haematology, oncology, clinical trials, urology, rheumatology and other specialist clinical areas across The Dudley Group NHS FT.
You will assist our emerging digital medicines agenda within aseptic services, and work closely with the cancer services team, Trust Research and Development department and clinical nutrition team. In addition to your aseptic background and clinical expertise, you will be well organised and methodical with experience in a range of clinical areas. You will enjoy teaching, as a commitment to training is an essential part of the role.
