Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the maternity outpatient department delivering a crucial service. Flu, covid and pertussis vaccinations are crucial to aid the health and wellbeing of our community.

If you are a qualified nurse/ midwife, experienced in midwifery patient care, approachable, motivated and can work flexibly within a working week, to give vaccinations to pregnant women, we need you in our department.

Post holder must be able to commence from April 2023, part time hours are available but flexibility to cover a 5-day service, is required from the team.

Main duties of the job

The Flu/covid/ pertussis Programme Vaccinator needs to be a NMC registrant, who is confident to work under own initiative. The successful candidates will work to deliver a safe and effective service, for the delivery of pertussis, covid and seasonal delivery of 'Flu' vaccinations. The post holder will be responsible for administering the vaccine, to women, attending the Maternity outpatient department.

In particular the post holder will be responsible for:

  • Configuration of their vaccination area
  • Administration of the vaccine using the National Protocol
  • Disposal of clinical waste and change of PPE as per national guidelines

o Adherence to infection control practices between individuals
