Job summary

There is an opportunity within the Interventional Radiology service for a Radiographer Team Manager Band 7.

This role will provide professional leadership within Interventional Radiology and to act as the operational manager as required, ensuring the effective deployment of all resources and that key performance targets such as waiting times and response to in-patient demand are achieved.

Applicants must have extensive clinical experience in Interventional Radiology and be able to manage and prioritise workload with effective decision making, good organisation and planning.

Effective people management and leadership skills will be necessary to ensure the Team delivers effective imaging by providing appropriate clinical leadership, managerial leadership and educational expertise within the Interventional Radiology Service

Main duties of the job

To provide senior oversight in your specified modality, performing high quality diagnostic examinations and independently clinically evaluating the information gained, recording relevant images.

To act as the operational manager of the relevant modality as required, ensuring the effective and efficient deployment of all resources.

To implement and lead service developments within relevant modality.

To provide professional leadership and expertise and to assume responsibility for clinical and medically related tasks.

To ensure the team delivers effective imaging by providing appropriate clinical leadership, managerial leadership, educational and development expertise with this scope of practice.

To be responsible as a team manager within the department and lead competent staff with an emphasis on high delivery of service and quality care to both patients and consultants.

To deputise for the Interventional and Fluoroscopy Principal Radiographer as required.
