Job summary
The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic, compassionate, motivated, progressive, forward thinking nursing team, who are always endeavouring to provide the highest level of care to our patients. You will assist the team with supporting patients by undertaking holistic needs assessments, completing new patient talks and administering a variety of different SACT (Systemic anti-cancer treatment). You will need to demonstrate an awareness of evidence based practice and a commitment to providing an excellent patient experience and will ideally have had previous SACT experience or knowledge of working within Haematology and Oncology The working week is Monday to Friday 10 hour shift or 7.5hr shifts available. One Bank Holiday 4hr shift per year is required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development and implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision. They will be required to actively participate in the teaching and supervision of other nursing and non-nursing staff. The post holder will also be required to take a lead / link role for the nursing unit/department to be determined on appointment/appraisal.
