Job summary
An exciting opportunity for a part time (20 hours per week) Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer post has become available in the Pharmacy Department at Russells Hall Hospital working within Pharmacy Aseptic Services. The Pharmacy Aseptic Unit is a sterile unit that prepares sterile medication for patients in the hospital. Training is available to provide the post holder with skills to perform duties of extensive, specialist cleaning, transfer disinfection, stock control, order completion, unpacking goods, receiving goods, record keeping, monitoring the environment, general housekeeping duties and aseptic dispensing. Although training will be given to the post holder, previous experience of working in a pharmacy aseptic unit or clean room environment and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice is desirable. The post will also include working rotational weekends and bank holidays. You should be eager to learn, flexible, reliable and able to work accurately. The successful candidate must have GCSE (or equivalent) at Grade C or above in English and Maths. Individuals with NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services would be welcome.
