Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in paediatric dietetics and progress to band 6 once competencies have been completed. The post holder will support the Paediatric Dietetic Team Lead with the provision of high-quality advice and support for patients and their families/carers at Russells Hall Hospital. The post-holder will also manage an outpatient caseload for children not seen by the Community Paediatric Dietitians. We are integral members of the multidisciplinary team, working closely with Consultant Paediatricians, Immunologists and Dermatologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Ward Outreach Teams and Dysphagia Speech andLanguage Therapists. We have the support of an experienced Paediatric Dietetic Support Worker and a Paediatric Dietetic Administration Apprentice.

Main duties of the job

  • Dietetic cover for the Children's ward
  • Dietetic support for Paediatric Assessment Unit and HOT clinics (fast access to treatment)
  • Outpatient Clinic, specialising mainly in allergy and faltering growth
  • Group education sessions ( Milk allergy group) and other possible groups in the future
  • Supporting and advising the Dietetic Support Worker
