Job summary

The Black Country and West Birmingham Integrated Care System has four acute trusts- Royal Wolverhampton NHS trust, Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, Dudley Group of Hospitals and Walsall Healthcare.

Development of a provider collaborative between the four trusts in the Black Country and West Birmingham commenced in December 2020. Since then, a programme of work has developed centring on clinical services and back office as delivery work streams, with a range of enabling work streams covering IT, workforce, governance, intelligence and communications.

As a project manager within the Black Country Provider Collaborative you will work across the clinical services and enabling workstreams to progress plans for each area, working with colleagues across the four trusts to deliver the vision and ambition. You will work with a range of clinical, nursing and managerial colleagues to develop speciality networks, plan programmes of work and implement change through clearly defined projects as part of the Provider Collaboratives Acute Services Reconfiguration programme.

Hosted by Dudley Group of Hospitals, you will work with colleagues across all four acute trusts in the Black Country which includes Royal Wolverhampton, Walsall Healthcare and Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trusts.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing high-quality project management including project planning and administration, risk management, and reporting
  • Co-ordinating, supporting and attending programme meetings and events as required, eg supporting forward agenda planning, co-ordinating papers and contributions, taking meeting minutes, managing and following up action logs.
  • Managing and maintaining high quality project and programme documentation, consistent with the overall approach of the PMO, eg programme/project plans, risks and issues log
  • Supporting the proactive management of key risks and issues ensuring appropriate actions are taken to mitigate or respond.
  • Supporting in the development of policies or standard operating procedures in relation to specialist area of work
  • Develop and maintain excellent collaborative working relationships, fostering working in an integrated way across the four acute providers and with other stakeholders beyond the APC.
  • Supporting and working closely with operational and clinical teams within Trusts to ensure the delivery of project and overall programme objectives
  • Supporting the development of short, medium and long term business plans.
  • Presenting project information and issues, explaining complexities, to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting the development of good communication and information flows regarding the APC within the four acute providers
  • Operating effectively in a highly political and sensitive environment
