Job summary
Band 6 Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse 22.5 hrs a week in our motivated & friendly team.
You will develop to be the clinical expert & professional resource for patients, their families & the multi-professional team.
Our caseload of approximately 160 children & young people with diabetes.

Main duties of the job
To provide specialist advice, support and care to the children, young people and their families with diabetes at the Dudley Group Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, within hospital, home and community settings.
To enable children and young people with diabetes to reach their optimum level of health, independence, social and emotional well-being, through the provision of ongoing clinical management, education and support tailored to individual need.
To develop and maintain programmes of education for children/young people with diabetes and their families.
To act as the clinical expert and professional resource to children/young people and families, and the multi-professional team around them - both within and external to the Trust.
To liaise effectively with members of the multi-professional team, within and external to the trust, to advocate for the needs of the child and ensure best outcomes for them.
