Job summary

The opportunity has arisen for a driven and highly competent PACS Manager. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual, willing to lead the delivery of a high-quality service.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in this field including specialist knowledge of IT systems such as Picture Archive Communication Systems (PACS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA), Image Exchange Portal (IEP) and Electronic Order Communications.

As the PACS manager you will be responsible for management and development of the IT systems supported by this post. Maintaining effective service delivery, responding to evolving clinical and non-clinical service needs. The postholder will be an expert in all issues relating to and affecting PACS and associated clinical systems. Leading on projects to support service development, quality and improvements. It will also be essential to support training and development of clinical and non-clinical staff in relation to PACS.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work closely with the Radiology, Breast Imaging and Cardiology teams to ensure that the clinical images are available where required for patient management, diagnosis and treatment and will liaise closely with all clinical teams and departments. The Picture Archive Communications System (PACS) manager will also work closely with the Applications Team to ensure cross skilling is in place and that appropriate monitoring is maintained to ensure that the PACS and Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) system is fully functional to its required performance. This position is critical in maintaining operational flow, maintenance and the development of services and systems within the scope of the role.
