The Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, within Darent Valley Hospital, is an exciting and challenging elective and emergency surgical service.
Our Theatre Team provides a first class 24/7 service which includes anaesthetic, surgical and post-operative care and treatment for our patients.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Theatre Practitioner.
It is essential that candidates are able to work in recovery.
We are currently seeking a dynamic senior registered practitioner to enhance our enthusiastic and progressive anaesthetic/scrub team/recovery team. This role requires excellent leadership and communication skills. The right candidate will be able to educate, motivate and manage an effective team. Also, the candidate should be a proactive and confident practitioner who is able to commit to this dynamic role and navigate the changing demands of today's healthcare environment.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will work in Darent Valley Hospital, Main Theatres and has responsibility for the assessment and development of programmes of care, including monitoring standards of care. In addition, the post holder carries responsibility for deployment, supervision and teaching of multidisciplinary clinical staff and learners.
Assisting both the Anaesthetist and participating within the Multidisciplinary team.
To provide expert, holistic care of a high standard to both perioperative patients and their relatives whilst they are under the care of Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust.
To take direct managerial responsibility for the clinical area in the absence of or as delegated by the Departmental Coordinator.
To assist in the leadership and development of an identified group of practitioners within the Unit complement.
To act as a clinical resource within the Unit and across the Division as necessary.
To act as a positive role model to junior staff members.
Participating in "on-call" rotas or cross site working where necessary. Carry out other duties, as may be required by Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust which fall within the grading of the post.
