Job summary

An exciting opportunity has become available within the Information Governance team to join our team as a Freedom of Information Support Officer.

We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our busy team, who is a team player with both excellent written and verbal / listening communication skills.

You will need to demonstrate strong administrative and IT skills, as well as the ability to organise and prioritise your work in order to meet tight deadlines, with great attention to detail.

The role requires presence on site (hybrid working)

This position will not be supported for visa sponsorship. All applicants are expected to have valid right to work document to work in the UK when applying for this position.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for supporting the Information Governance Manager in all matters relating to Freedom of Information requests and the Trusts Publication Scheme. You will be expected to support other members of the IG team as and when required.

You will provide a comprehensive and a highly efficient FOI service for the Trust.

Education and Training

Essential

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft products namely Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook applications;
  • Computer Literacy and Information Technology (e.g. ECDL, CLAIT level 1,2 or 3)
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (inc mathematics).

Desirable

  • Good knowledge of all MS Office applications;
  • A-level / NVQ3 (or equivalent).

Experience

Essential

  • Previous clerical experience.

Desirable

  • 12 months experience with Information Governance within an acute Trust.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of the Freedom of Information Act 2000;
  • Understanding of the Trust policy on Freedom of Information;
  • Understanding of Records Management.
  • Ability to work autonomously to achieve agreed objectives;
  • A logical approach to problem solving quickly and practically;
