Health Care Assistant - Outpatients

Job summary

We have vacancies for experienced Health Care Assistant (HCA), to work in the Outpatients Department at Darent Valley Hospital. You will be expected to work on a flexible basis and will be allocated to the phlebotomy area and the outpatient clinics.

For many people an outpatients department is their first and only experience of using hospital services and the quality of care they receive from us leaves a lasting impression on them. You will be part of a team of over 45 nursing/ phlebotomy staff and will also work in collaboration with the reception team.

Outpatient Services are rapidly changing at the moment due to the Trusts Outpatients Transformation programme. You will need to be flexible in your approach to your work and your hours, to meet the needs of the service.

You must have previous experience in an acute hospital setting and established Phlebotomy skills.

Main duties of the job

To work as a member of the Outpatient nursing and Phlebotomy team, caring for patients with direct or indirect supervision, whilst maintaining a stable and safe clinical environment.

Assist in the running of the outpatient and phlebotomy clinics and /or organizing a designated clinic and working with indirect supervision from a Registered Nurse Bleep holder for advice or support.

To work across Outpatient Clinics on all Trust sites, as required by the service.
