Job summary

We have a vacancy for a part time Administrator to join our team. The successful applicant will be an active and supportive member of the department's administrative and clerical team, and will provide a comprehensive and efficient general administrative and secretarial service to the Consultants, Specialist Nurses and their teams.

They will be the first point of contact for the department and will be responsible for the smooth administration of the service.

Main duties of the job

First point of contact, ensure that all callers and visitors are dealt with promptly, courteously and appropriately

Deal with all incoming and outgoing telephone calls and ensure enquires are dealt with appropriately

Deal with patients and relatives sympathetically regarding outpatient appointments, dates for investigations and/or any other related matters.

Deal with incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence on a daily basis.

Produce general correspondence, e.g. clinic letters, result letters, medical statements, complaints statements and miscellaneous reports as required.

  • RSA or equivalent experience

  • Medical Terminology Qualification (AMSPAR)
