*We are currently looking for full time members of staff with commitment to work a full rotating roster. Shift patterns will be agreed by the line manager to meet the needs of the service*
Main duties of the job
You will be joining a motivated, multi professional team caring for people within an acute care setting on the ward and there will be opportunity for in-house training and to develop your skills and knowledge in our speciality. You will assist with the planned total patient care under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Nurse/Midwife, ensuring the dignity and self-esteem of the patient is preserved at all times.
Most importantly, you will contribute and participate in the positive working team and the Trust as a whole.
Working days and or shift patterns will be agreed by the line manager to meet the needs of the service.

Job responsibilities
Assist with the planned total patient/client care under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Nurse/Midwife.
Provides and maintains a high standard of total patient care at all times, ensuring the dignity and self-esteem of the patient/client is preserved.
Contributes and participates in the positive working team and the Trust as a whole.
Assists with maintaining the cleanliness of the hospital environment thus, contributing the control of infection.
Reports to the nurse in charge, on observations made of the patient/client and any changes in the patient/client condition.
Chaperones patients/clients and accompanies them to other wards, departments, hospital, maintaining the patients privacy, dignity and safety at all times.
Maintains confidentiality at all times, only providing patient/client information under the guidance and supervision of a Registered Nurse/Midwife.
Assists in maintaining a safe environment for patients/clients, visitors and other staff, as directed by the nurse/midwife in charge.
Undertakes other duties, as directed, such as cleaning, storing and checking of equipment and maintaining storage areas in an orderly manner.
Undertakes duties on different wards, across the Trust, within the 24 hour period, as required by service demands.
Courteously receives patients/clients, relatives and visitors onto the ward.
Itemises and checks patient/client property with another nursing/midwife colleague, and provides signatory evidence to confirm this has been undertaken.
Reports all incidents and accidents to the nurse/midwife in charge.
Is aware of the location of resuscitation and emergency equipment and undertakes basic life support procedures, when required.
