Job summary
Our Practice Development Team within Surgery, Critical and Planned Care Division has an upcoming vacancy. We are looking for a highly skilled surgical nurse with a broad range of experience and skills within the speciality to join our team. You will have experience of supporting student nurses and qualified staff to achieve their full potential in achieving high levels of patient care and ward management. We wish our team of nurses to develop their evidence based skills to ensure that we continue our journey to an CQC rating of Outstanding and you will be leading this for our ward and clinic based nurses in their education needs. Our Wards include Orthopaedic, General Surgery, Urology/Renal and Day Care. You will be supported by the Cross Site Matron for the Division who covers both the Darent Valley and Queen Mary's Hospital Sidcup sites. We are a friendly senior Divisional Team and we work together well to deliver for our patients and staff. Main duties of the job
The job holder will be an expert practitioner across the surgical specialties working with all grades of staff on the wards and clinical departments within the SCPC Division (not ITU or Theatres). The post holder will develop and update standards of care, which are evidenced based. The post holder carries responsibility for the education, learning, training and development of all staff and students within the Wards and Clinical Departments within the SCPC Division. The Post holder will work autonomously and as a positive role model in providing support and leadership to all healthcare professionals while leading on devising and revising educational policies and guidelines.
