Job summary
The post-holder will be responsible for leading on the Chemotherapy Outreach Project to help deliver the strategic objectives of Macmillan and the Directorate.
The post-holder will provide project management expertise, guidance and advice, including the co-ordination, drafting and editing of project documentation, tracking risks and issues and regular monitoring of project performance against agreed project deliverables.
The role will involve leading on the preparation of various project-related reports and providing change management support to the Directorate to facilitate adoption of new ways of working and associated behavioural changes, to achieve project outcomes and organisational objectives.
The role will involve service redesign / improvement work, including the modelling of information and statistics on activity and other performance-related data to aid understanding of potential impact / benefits of proposed changes, in support of enabling robust decision-taking across the organisation.
Main duties of the job
To lead on designated performance improvement projects for Macmillan and DGT. Identify the key project stakeholders and establish and chair a project steering group.
To lead service improvement initiatives and develop proposals for service improvements, including developing and delivering training to varied audiences to facilitate change, as required.
Scope and map the existing cancer workforce's capability to deliver the Macmillan's Right by You Principles. Responsible for ensuring their understanding of this as a way of working. Identify gaps and priority areas to enable the integrated delivery of Macmillan Right by You Principles
Ensure the voice of the person living with cancer is heard, valued and represented throughout the project to ensure the delivery of Macmillan Right By You Principles is reflective of patients views and needs, working closely with relevant and stakeholders through the lifetime of the project
Understand, build and develop integration links between acute, primary and community care.
Responsible for improvement and evaluation of projects by undertaking Post Implementation Reviews to identify and share lessons learnt across the organisation and improve the rate of success with respect to delivery and culture change.
