Job summary
The DGT Doers work across all areas of the hospital from wards and mortuary to procurement and finance. This gives Doers the really unique opportunity to see the variety of jobs on offer.
This role will be perfect for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with good IT and organisational skills, willing to work hard and in a variety of settings.
You will work closely with the other Doers and report to our Wellbeing Administrator on a day to day basis for your duties, training.
All shifts will be 09:00-17:00 covering week days and weekends. Shifts will be out as and when we need the extra support
Main duties of the job
The DGT Doers were set up during the Coronavirus Pandemic in order to help the hospital cope with the increased demand on healthcare staff.
Their role is to help the workforce perform their duties optimally and reduce workforce stress. They will be required to work across all areas of the hospital. The role will involve communicating with staff, deliveries of essential equipment, administration, data entry and providing well-being support to colleagues in the form of stocking and general tidying of the marquee & igloos. Supporting tea trollies around the hospital.
Trust staff submit their request for a Doer and the work required via a central hub and then duties are allocated on a daily basis. The aim is to support all requests within 48 hours.
They will be supervised by the area that they have been allocated to for that session.

Distributing supplies including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Procurement
Stock checks for PPE
Staffing the tea trollies for staff unable to leave the wards
Administration duties in areas such as: Heart Centre, Complaints and claims, Theatre Scheduling, Medical records, Communications, Finance and Bereavement services.
Ward Clerk Answering the telephone to colleagues, taking messages. Talking to relatives concerned about a patient, as well as supporting the team as a runner
Mortuary providing support to the mortuary team when required to move the recently deceased.
Participating in patient experience events using questionnaires to gain information.
Stocking and tidying Wellbeing marquee & igloos.
Provide support to senior teams when messages need to be disseminated across the Trust.
Work with Pharmacy to deliver medication
Delivery of posters
Supporting any other ad-hoc requests received
Due to the nature of this role, the post holder must be flexible, however they will never be allocated a duty in a sensitive area that they are uncomfortable with such as mortuary support or ITU.
