Job summary

An exciting opportunity to become part of the family of a high performing acute Trust to help redefine Business Intelligence!

We have an exciting opening for a Principle Analyst to join our busy BI and Performance Team and develop skills in analytical healthcare management. Working closely with corporate and operational teams you will provide specialised advice on information to support operational and clinical decision making. Acting as a BI Liaison to a clinical division you will lead analytical work within the division and become a subject matter expert for the BI and Performance Team.

Main duties of the job

Duties include:

Analysis and development of accurate, insightful reports for a range of stakeholders.

Supporting the Trusts corporate information requirements', ensuring high quality information is supplied within deadlines and is fit for purpose.

Working collaboratively with the Corporate and Operational teams to provide analytical support to determine future pressures against key deliverables, particularly in relation to the NHS plan and locally commissioned targets.

Management and development of junior BI team members

The Principle analyst is responsible for the timely and accurate provision of statutory reporting and the analysis and development of accurate, insightful reports that inform and improve service provision to the organisation and externally.

The post holder will be accountable for the compilation and submission of many of the Trusts statutory returns and also demonstrate highly developed skills in analysis, interpretation and presentation of focussed information to support the Trusts operational performance management and to inform decision making within the Trust.

The post holder will be a highly organised individual with strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing high quality and accurate Information. They will have a progressive and proactive attitude; actively contribute to advancing the skill set and productivity of the team and wider organisation and be responsible for ensuring specialist and/or complex information is processed in accordance with Trust policies & procedures.

The role will involve investigating specialist or complex data issues. On occasions to also provide specialist advice to staff on systems and/or policy and develop or adapt complex software, information reports or analyse / interpret complex information / data or deliver specialist training.

A primary function within the role is to act as a BI liaison to the clinical divisions. To assist the division to interpret data and provide a judgement on performance and the ability to deliver operational plans. This includes attending divisional meetings and becoming a subject matter expert for the BI Team.

This position may manage junior staff to help provide a high quality, timely, professional information service that meets the needs of patient services within the Trust.

Extensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and tools such as SSIS and SSRS will be essential with other analytical applications and techniques desirable.
