Diabetes Specialist Dietitian

Job summary

An exciting opportunity to join our small team of diabetes dietitians has arisen. You will be experienced in educating patients who are managing their diabetes with a variety of insulin pumps and continuous blood glucose monitoring. Working as part of a small team, liaising closely with our diabetes specialist nurses and endocrinology consultants to provide a MDT approach to support and educate our patients, empowering them to self manage their diabetes.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have a broad range of relevant clinical experience and able to demonstrate a real passion for diabetes, and the management of diabetes with individual and group education and insulin pump therapy.

You will work as part of the adult diabetes dietetic team within a multidisciplinary team consisting of dietitians, diabetes specialist nurses and consultants. You will be promoting patient education and independence with the focus on empowering self management.

As a dietitian at HHFT you can expect to receive robust peer support and regular formal supervision and clinical supervision.

You will have opportunities to lead on and contribute to service improvement projects, and have an active role in student training. We have close links with the Universities of Surrey and Winchester and take a variety of students for their clinical placements.
