Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an additional permanent Consultant to join our team.
It is expected that the post holder will provide specialised upper GI and emergency surgery. The post holder will provide expertise in the management of complex benign Upper GI surgery.
The post holder will be expected to provide clinical sessions across the Trust's three major sites. Support and contribute to the provision of emergency surgical care in a 1 in 8 rota will be based at Winchester. During time On Call, the consultant will not be expected to undertake elective surgery commitments.
This appointment will strengthen the existing successful track record of Hampshire Hospital's colorectal services, which has an enviable reputation for high quality patient care, innovation in service delivery and national leadership. The successful candidate will work principally alongside Mr Wakefield, Mr Szentpali, Mr Hou and Mr John
Main duties of the job
It is expected that the post holder will provide elective general, specialised UGI surgical and laparoscopic services and emergency surgery. The post holder will provide expertise in the management of Upper gastrointestinal conditions and be a core member of the local MDT. The post holder will be expected to provide clinical sessions across the Trust's three major sites.
Support and contribute to the provision of emergency surgical care in a 1 in 8 rota will be based at Winchester. During time On Call, the consultant will not be expected to undertake elective surgery commitments

This includes working flexibly to ensure that the elective lists are covered by a consultant at all times, this will include cover for annual and study leave and emergency on call cover.
