Physician Associate - Respiratory BNHH (E3 ward)
The closing date is 13 June 2025
Job summary
This Physician Associate role is relatively new to the organisation and we are excited to start this new journey and appoint Physician Associate to compliment the specialty based working across the medical division.
This is an exciting opportunity to apply for newly created Respiratory medicine posts to support the increased expansion and development of our Respiratory Ambulatory Care Unit (RACU) and Respiratory Department at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital (E3 Ward)
We envisage that the successful candidate will work alongside the respiratory team to deliver respiratory clinics in a dedicated Respiratory Ambulatory Care Unit. The working hours are 0830-1630, Monday to Friday. There is no out of hour's on-call commitments in these roles.
Main duties of the job
Working in the Respiratory Ambulatory Care Service, the candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including: Consultants, registrars, junior doctors, nurses, clinical nurse specialists, and therapists. The candidate will play an important role in the running of the service, receiving referrals from both inpatient services and primary care. Effective running of the ambulatory service has a direct positive impact on both supporting early discharges and admission avoidance.
Although the primary responsibility of the candidate will be supporting the running of the ambulatory service, there may be opportunities to be involved in the management of inpatients.
