Healthcare Support Worker - CYP with Complex Needs

Job summary

The Firvale nursing team are looking for a Healthcare Support Worker to join our ever growing service for children and young people (CYP) with complex healthcare needs at HHFT. The Firvale nursing team work closely alongside our amazing Community Children's and Special School Nursing teams within an innovative integrated service to provide care to children and young people with complex healthcare needs.

Firvale provides planned episodes of care for in a purpose-built, home away from home environment, with an aim to maintain their health and wellbeing while offering families valuable time to rest. Care breaks range from evening sessions to weekend stays.

Main duties of the job

Positions at Firvale are rarely available, and we are looking for an outstanding practitioner with experience of working in a health or social care role with children and young people. Ideally, you will have experience of working with children with significant health needs, however full training will be given to an individual who is an ideal fit for the team. This role provides the opportunity to work closely with our wider multi-disciplinary team as well as external agencies, to provide better outcomes for the ever-growing number of children who access our provision.

You would be aHealthcare Support Worker working in the four-bed unit focusing on delivering outstanding clinical care for children and young people with lifelong health needs in a nurse-led team. The opportunity to support outpatient clinics that run in the same building is also a possibility as part of this role, where you would be supporting a medical team to facilitate a range of clinics based in this community setting.

This challenging and rewarding role offers the opportunity to meet the health needs of children, young people, and their families within a multidisciplinary inter agency framework.
