Job summary

This role is only open to applicants that currently work within an NHS Trust within the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System (HIOW ICS).

The Peritoneal Malignancy Institute Basingstoke is a national treatment centre where patients with peritoneal malignancy can be treated with cytoreduction and Heated Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC). The service is based at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust on the Basingstoke site.

The Peritoneal Malignancy Institute is one of the highest volume international centres and one of only two centres in England providing treatment for Pseudomyxoma peritonei. The service therefore provides advice and treatment for patients across England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

The role of the data analyst is to manage and coordinate data collection and analysis within peritoneal malignancy, for service development, research and reporting requirements.

This will involve identifying, analysing, and correcting data quality issues and engaging with the department to safeguard the integrity of the information.

The post holder will work within the department to ensure it has access to the necessary high-quality data and information to undertake audit and research.

The post holder will work with the management team to produce regular and ad hoc reports to accurately present and forecast activity.The post holder will also design, implement, and maintain departmental data structures and databases.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will manage and coordinate data collection and analysis within Peritoneal Malignancy.

The post holder will carry out routine monthly and annual data submissions with the oversight of the peritoneal malignancy management team.

The post holder will identify, analyse and correct data quality issues and engage with the department to safeguard the integrity of the information.

The post holder will perform routine and ad-hoc queries.

The post holder will work within the department to ensure it has access to the necessary high quality data and information to support service improvement.

The post holder will maintain departmental data structures and databases.

The post holder will support the development and progression of collaborative working, clinical engagement and good stakeholder relationships.

The post holder will support the development of performance reporting and undertake information analyses to support Peritoneal Malignancy objectives. A key element of this role is ensuring people have the right information available for resolution of business issues.

The post holder will support the delivery of a high quality and professional information service to support operational, resource management and business planning.
