Job summary

Are you looking for an opportunity to lead an exceptionally dedicated team and to influence the delivery of a service? If you are, there is a secondment opportunity for you at HHFT Radiology as the service lead for the Non-Obstetric Ultrasound Service (NOUS), responsible for operational delivery of the NOUS service. You will also be leading the service development and improvement to both unscheduled and scheduled care incorporating DM01 performance.

This is a cross site role with an expectation that you will manage our four sites that provide NOUS. The Service lead will also be responsible for managing outsourcing suppliers and work in conjunction with the Consultant Sonographer for clinical support.

We undertake a variety of NOUS imaging and treatment examinations across a range of specialities, and we are looking for someone with effective leadership skills and experience in service provision.

This is a 12 months secondment post.

Main duties of the job

  • To be responsible for the operational delivery of the NOUS at HHFT Radiology
  • Line management of Sonographers and student Sonographers
  • Work with the Health and Safety team ensure compliance with regulations.
  • To be responsible for policy implementation and service development, ensuring documentation is reviewed, updated and amended as required.
  • To be responsible for the planning and organisation of the workload within all areas of the NOUS service
  • To participate in the redesign of the NOUS service to develop a robust structure and processes that delivers high quality and safe services.
  • To develop the NOUS service with the support of the Radiology Department Managers and Radiology SMT
  • Work with the Consultant Sonographer in delivering an exceptional NOUS service to all service users.
  • Investigate and provide first line response to incident reports relating to NOUS.
