Job summary

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and dedicated Band 5 RGN/ODP who would like to work full-time in our Main Theatre Recovery room.

We are looking for self-motivated individuals with excellent communication skills who thrive in a well-supported clinical environment, that aims for excellency of care under our Trust values and vision.

We offer support for CPD through a range of courses, study days and online learning.

Main duties of the job

The Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) generically known as Recovery, is part of theatres and manages patients in the immediate post-anaesthetic period. The unit sees a mixture of paediatric and adult patients undergoing day and inpatient procedures over a range of specialities to include those patients needing Critical Care.We are a small and friendly team with a real involvement in our unit, committed to deliver the best possible care to our patients and to support the wider theatre team. You will be a RGN or ODP who is flexible in your approach to the way you work, with the resilience to cope with the demands of intermittent, increased turnover. Our workload is flexible and varied with typical stays of between 30 minutes and 2 hours, but also overnight High Dependency Care is provided too. You must be willing to work a range of shifts to cover the 7 days/24-hour service and be happy to work closely with a multidisciplinary team as well as to work alone once competent.
