Job summary

Are you a creative self-starter, with excellent communication skills, a zest for multi-channel marketing, capable of hitting the ground running and realising some ambitious targets for two charities in the health sector?

As Communications and Marketing Officer, you'll be joining two incredibly ambitious charities to take charge of and to deliver their multi-channel communication and engagement plans.

Both Hampshire Hospitals Charity and Winchester Hospice Fundraising Charity are currently realising their exciting new strategies to significantly grow income and awareness, both within the hospital trust, and throughout the communities local to them by 2027.

As communications and marketing lead you will research, plan, create and edit content including e-newsletters, social media posts, physical collateral, including press releases and newsletters, and videos, manage social media channels and support internal and external campaigns and events to deliver key strategic objectives for each charity.

Reporting to the Head of Charity you will work directly with trustees, staff, patients, volunteers and the local community across Hampshire.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead and be primarily responsible for the Charity Team's communications and engagement activity, including internal, external and digital communications requirements.
  • Working directly with key stakeholders across the Trust to support the delivery of their fundraising plans and projects to support both charities
  • Developing, creating and managing content/ activity on social media platforms to promote both charities as places to support and to strengthen their overall brands.
  • Responsible for day-to-day brand and reputation management, as well as for any crisis communications response as may be required.
  • Designing, creating and managing of a range of physical and online content including, but not limited to, social media posts, graphics, videos or posters.
  • Owning and being responsible for both charities' standalone websites and content management.
  • Producing written communications for, and to disseminate to, internal and external audiences, including, but not limited to, emails, bulletins, website, intranet, press releases.
  • As communications lead for the charity team you will create regular reports on all communications activity/campaigns for both sets of trustees.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues in the HHFT comms team to provide general support where necessary and building networks with others in the Trust to further the aims of both charities.
  • Helping to identify new areas, opportunities, and methods of communications with internal and external audiences.
