Job summary
This band 7 post has become available due to maternity cover of the current post holder within the pharmacy infection team. This is a unique role in which you can develop your specialist skillset and advance your clinical skills.
- As a Specialist Pharmacist, you will spend time in a patient facing role working in multi-disciplinary ward rounds on inpatient wards to support the delivery of the Trust's Antimicrobial Stewardship program.
- You will gain new knowledge and skills in infection management, through a competency-based program, service development, education and projects. The Trust has a strong multidisciplinary approach with extended roles for non-medical staff.
- The successful candidate will be provided with the support of a well-established team, opportunities to develop and embed their careers, and to make a difference to patients' lives.
Main duties of the job
- To develop, deliver and evaluate the Clinical Pharmacy Service provided by the antimicrobial Stewardship team with responsibility for business planning and staff management in line with pharmacy service level agreements and objectives set by the Associate Director of Pharmacy, Deputy Chief Pharmacist, Clinical Pharmacy Manager and Line manager.
- To collaborate with the Lead Pharmacists and consultant microbiologists for antimicrobial stewardship to ensure the provision of an effective and efficient service for all patients of the services.
- To provide a clinical pharmacy service to the Isolation ward
- To participate in audit and surveillance of antimicrobial usage and resistance patterns, including report writing.
