Job summary

We are delighted to offer a brand-new role within the homecare medicines service at Hampshire hospital Foundation Trust. The homecare medicine service coordinates the supply of medication to over 3000 patients with long term conditions. The homecare service is in high demand and with an expected increase in services we are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and organised colleague to join our team!

The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of projects within a highly proactive and supportive team. We are looking for a team player who will work within our current team and in turn will benefit from gaining invaluable skills and insight into the homecare sector with this unique opportunity.

Main duties of the job

To assist the Pharmacy Homecare Senior Technician and Lead Homecare Pharmacists throughout the homecare pathway, in safe and cost-effective procurement and supply of medicine to patients via third party homecare companies for Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT).

To ensure all pharmacy duties are carried out in accordance with legal guidelines and departmental and Trust procedures.

To support in the planning and implementing of projects such as biosimilar switches and contract implementation to ensure homecare services follow cost effective procurement.

To act upon and manage any price queries or problems, investigating and resolving discrepancies and ensuring invoices are processed in a timely manner.

Undertake regular operational commitment to maintain competencies and demonstrate fitness to practice as a pharmacy technician. To undertake any other duties applicable to the grade/post as required.
