Band 4 Speciality Coordinator
Are you enthusiastic, organised and enjoy a challenge where each day is different? If so, then we have just the position for you. We require a full time Specialty Coordinator to join our busy Neurology Admin team at Basingstoke Hospital
We are looking for someone with:
- Supervisory skills.
- A desire to learn and develop
- Secretarial experience and skills
- Good organisational skills with initiative and enthusiasm
- Experience in working to targets and deadlines
- Professional and friendly telephone manner
- Excellent customer service skills
The post-holder will be responsible for supervision and running of the Neurology specialty administration service.
Main duties of the job
- To provide and manage an efficient and effective full administration service for the designated clinical staff
- To act as first point of contact for all forms of communication for the Consultants / Nurses and the wider team
- To monitor the timetable and diary of the clinical staff, taking an overview of the co-ordination of both clinical and other commitments
- Responsible for organising and communicating appointment and admission related information to patients and /or carers
- To support the administrative pathway ensuring patients are seen within the mandatory waiting time targets
- Directly supervise the Specialty Administrators and Speciality Assistants within the team ensuring the efficient running of the service
