Job summary

To provide and manage an efficient and effective full administration service for the Consultants and designated clinical staff.

To act as first point of contact for all forms of communication for the Consultants and the wider team. To monitor the timetable and diary of the Consultants, taking an overview of the co-ordination of both clinical and other commitments. Responsible for organising and communicating appointment and admission related information to patients and /or carers.

To support the administrative pathway ensuring patients are seen within the mandatory waiting time targets.

Directly supervise the Specialty Administrator and Speciality Assistant team ensuring the efficient running of the service.

Main duties of the job

This role is based within our secretarial team and will require a well organised candidate who is able to support our clinical team within the Endocrinology and Diabetes service.

Main duties will include; taking patient calls, managing queries, booking of patient appointments, processing letters and emails while delivering completed tasks in a timely fashion.
