Job summary

As Graphic Designer, you will work as part of the Hampshire Hospitals Charity team, delivering an exciting new charity strategy to grow fundraising income and awareness of the charity both within the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust and throughout the communities that it serves.

You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the charity team's communications and engagement strategy through the delivery of on brand, well-designed, high-quality visuals. This will include problem-solving the visual challenge in representing/presenting the charity to stakeholders. You will create both digital and print/physical collateral which will include e-newsletters, social media posts, videos, web pages, merchandise, press releases, newsletters, campaign materials and flyers. Your work will contribute towards the direct raising of awareness and support for Hampshire Hospitals Charity and the dedicated campaigns that are part of the exciting new strategy. Your work will need to be engaging, accessible, meet the needs of the target audience and appropriate to the subject matter.

You will act as a helpful and knowledgeable representative of Hampshire Hospitals Charity, providing excellent levels of service and support for your colleagues in the charity team. You will be confident in liaising with clinical and corporate staff where required, and you will contribute towards the charity's annual planning process.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of a talented fundraising team implementing an ambitious and exciting strategic fundraising plan to raise £2m of fundraising income annually and increased awareness by 2026. Using your graphic design knowledge, you will contribute towards the delivery of the annual plan of action to realise this strategy for Hampshire Hospitals Charity. You will report regularly to the Head of Charity.

We want you to play a key role in the development and delivery of a distinct and recognisable visual style for the charity and to be consistent in designing, developing and delivering high-quality resources, including high-profile fundraising materials, for both digital and print channels.

As the team's graphic design specialist, you'll be expected to advise and guide colleagues from across the charity team on visual presentation and how to maximise impact. Alongside this you will make sure that appropriate systems and processes are in place to allow you to maximise your output.

Occasionally we'd also like you to support the wider priorities of the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, however the majority of your work will be for Hampshire Hospitals Charity.

Throughout your time with us we'd like you to adhere to our trust's core values of compassion, accountability, respect and encourage, and to embed these in all that you do and throughout the interactions that you have.

About us

Our charity team is a friendly outward looking community committed to doing its very best for the staff, patients and families that use our hospital services. We have a positive outlook with energy and enthusiasm at the heart of our daily operations, and this is reflected in our colleagues across the hospital trust too. There is a zest for our charity and the work that it does, with new ideas being welcomed and achievements being celebrated. Staff are the reason for our successes, and they are supported and nurtured as employees throughout their time with us.
