Job summary

The Training department is offering an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Project Support Administrator.

Main duties of the job

The main duties for this role will be:

  • To provide general administrative support to the Strategy and Project team; in addition to having a defined area of responsibility for administering functions as defined in role specific responsibilities
  • To support with the advertising and communications around training courses and projects including editing and maintaining the intranet, updating social media and developing communications strategies to engage delegates
  • To support the service with identified income generation work streams
  • To support with University of Winchester provisions within the centre
  • Support in administering the department's payments by:
    • Requesting invoices & requisitions through SBS
    • Using the department's organisational credit card
    • Raising cheques/BACS transfers
    • Arranging internal transfers of money, as appropriate
    • Identifying and using the most effective means of payment for funding requests
  • To provide a comprehensive customer focused service to incoming queries, behaving with courtesy and discretion at all times
  • To support the department in providing administrative and clerical services as defined in the responsibilities

Training & Qualifications

Essential

  • oIT literate.
  • oGCSE or equivalent grade A*-C in Maths and English as a minimum
  • oNVQ level 2 Business Admin / Customer Service or equivalent qualifications

Desirable

  • oNVQ Level 3 in Business Administration / Customer Service or equivalent.
  • oEvidence of continued personal development

Experience & Knowledge

Essential

  • oAble to demonstrate current knowledge and identify own learning needs
  • oWork with complex databases & Microsoft applications
  • oCompleting tasks given by a number of people / teams working to similar deadline
  • oTo be working in a similar role

Desirable

  • oAdministration in a training and development function.
  • oOrganising educational events
  • oWorking with education providers

Skills & Ability

Essential

  • oA customer care ethos and positive can do attitude
  • oGood written and verbal communication in the English language
  • oAble to work without direct supervision.
  • oAble to work within a team
  • oAble to meet the minimum skill set within the first 12 months of appointment with support and development where required ( list of skills as defined in generic competency framework)
  • oExcellent written & verbal communication skills
  • oAbility to work on own initiative and referring people when appropriate
  • oCalm and discrete under pressure
