Main duties of the job

What we look for:

  • With the support of the Matron you will analyse, monitor and implement actions that will ensure the service delivery is safe and effective in line with Trust values.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, maintaining strong working relationships with other teams within Cardiology and beyond.
  • You will be responsible for the daily operational management and service delivery process within the department, along with the line management and development of the nursing team.
  • Ensuring quality indicators are achieved and managed within the department.
  • A high level of skill and expertise in all aspects of acute cardiology, able to provide support and guidance where required.
  • You will ensure the smoothing of the unit, working as a key decision maker along side the multi discipline team, leading on aspects of clinical care and focusing on patient safety experience and quality assurance frameworks.

Who we are:

The Cardiac Care Unit consists of a 19 bedded Coronary Care Unit plus 12 Cardiology step down beds caring for patients experiencing acute cardiac emergencies and offering a 24 hour primary PCI service admitting patients from all over Hampshire and Berkshire.
