Senior Stroke Physiotherapist - Band 6
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our well established and respected stroke therapy team who work on the acute stroke unit.
This band 6 Physiotherapy post will enable the successful applicant to develop both their clinical reasoning and treatment skills within the field of stroke therapy as well as gaining supervision experience of more junior staff. Support will be provided from the Band 7 therapists.
You will be an excellent communicator, enthusiastic, flexible and able to work autonomously using strong clinical assessment and reasoning skills as well as supporting complex discharge planning.
You will demonstrate a desire to work creatively to bring about innovative service development and have a passion for working within stroke patients
Main duties of the job
The band 6 Stroke physiotherapist will be an integral part of the stroke therapy team. They will work well with the whole MDT to provide excellent evidence based rehabilitation and discharge planning on the acute stroke unit. They will be a active part of the in-service programme and enthusiastically take part in service development projects.
They will provide supervision and mentorship to more junior staff and be a clinical educator for physiotherapy students on placement.
