Job summary
This role is offered on a part time basis of 26 hours per week, this means that candidates interested in working part time are encouraged to apply and will receive a salary on a pro rata basis.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Lead Paediatric Diabetes Nurse Specialist to support the continuing development of the children's diabetes service at the Great Western Hospital.
We are looking for a highly motivated nurse to work 26 hours per week over 4 week days.
The postholder will act as an autonomous practitioner, supporting children and families across hospital and community settings, and providing operational and strategic leadership for the paediatric diabetes nursing service.
They will collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary children's diabetes team, to ensure provision of effective care and development of the service to enable children and young people with diabetes to achieve the best possible quality of life, health and wellbeing.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide operational and strategic leadership for the paediatric diabetes nursing serviceand collaborate closely with the clinical lead and multidisciplinary children's diabetes team, to ensureprovision of effective care and development of the service to enable children and young people with diabetesto achieve the best possible quality of life, health and wellbeing.
The post holder will deliver a comprehensive specialist clinical, advisory, and educational service acrosshospital and community settings, in line with local and national standards, supporting both patients andservice providers.They will take a lead role in advancing clinical practice, integrating technology, and contributing to researchand audit activities.
