Job summary

Tobacco Treatment Advisor - Band 41.0 WTE | 8-Month Secondment/Fixed-Term Contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team supporting the implementation of the NHS Long Term Plan for treating tobacco dependency within the Acute Trust.

Previous experience in smoking cessation is desirable but not essential. If you're passionate about helping people tackle tobacco dependency, have strong communication skills, and are committed to promoting a Smokefree Trust, we'd love to hear from you.

The role requires flexibility to meet the evolving needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

Based at Great Western Hospital, the Tobacco Treatment Advisor will play a key role in supporting both adult patients and staff who wish to stop smoking or reduce harm from tobacco use. You will deliver evidence-based advice and practical support to help individuals take positive steps towards a smokefree future.

  • Experience of providing healthcare, healthcare advice or health promotion advice to patients or members of the public.

  • Making Every Contact Count Training
  • Other training in health promotion interventions / behaviour change
