Endoscopy Pre-Assessment Nurse Band 5 37.5 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the pre-assessment service within the endoscopy unit in Swindon. We are a friendly team with good ambition to progress the service further. We offer full induction to the unit and will support you in your training and to discovering how great Endoscopy is.
The future is bright for the Endoscopy department with a new CDC being constructed in West Swindon. Successful candidates will be expected to work at both sites.

Main duties of the job
Working as part of the Endoscopy Team the post holder will provide education to patients and health care personnel on all endoscopy procedures. They will provide specialist nursing expertise, act as a resource and be expected to exhibit specific knowledge in the management of disorders of the Upper and Lower gastrointestinal tract.
The Endoscopy Pre assessment Nurse will host telephone and face to face pre assessment clinics for patients requiring endoscopic procedures. This will involve giving clear guidance on bowel preparation and advice to the patient on their diet pre and post procedure.
You will need to address any issues that may arise prior to the patient attending for their endoscopy procedures such as the management of the patient's medications and assessing any pre-existing medical conditions which could impact their endoscopic procedure.
