Job summary
This is a key role within Great Western NHS Foundation Trust's Research & Innovation department. This is an exciting opportunity to play animportant part in facilitating the set-up of research projects across our Hospital's clinical specialties. By providing co-ordination and administrationsupport, the post-holder will help to ensure high quality clinical research governance at the Trust . The post-holder will also be involved in theimplementation and maintenance of Research Management systems, in order to support corporate research objectives
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for updating and maintaining the research management system EDGE. The post holder will also beresponsible for the Trust approval process of all Research Amendments, and observational research studies. This includes reviewing the studyprotocols to understand the impact the proposed activity has on the Trust in order to gain appropriate approvals, contract amendments and issuecontinued Capacity and Capability. The post-holder will also invoice against research finance schedules, and develop and implement systems forteams to maintain up to date source information to allow for raising of invoices where appropriate.

To lead on the input of global and local study specific governance information on the EDGE Research management system across the wholeTrust, ensuring completeness of data including its maintenance to enable it to be an effective tool for registering and monitoring the progress ofresearch projects and for statutory reporting processes.2. Support the Research Manager with data audit to ensure the quality and accuracy of data held within the EDGE research management system.3. To provide advice to researchers, of varying levels of seniority both internal and external to the Trust on how to fulfil Trust R&D policies aboutundertaking research. This includes supporting new and experienced researchers in understanding and complying with complex researchgovernance requirements and ensuring stakeholders understand their responsibilities4. The R&D Facilitator is expected to work unsupervised, and they will have an important role in the implementation and maintaining of ResearchManagement systems to support corporate researchobjectives.
