The Great Western Hospital are currently looking to expand their Radiology Department to support the recovery and current demand within diagnostics. The Radiology Department has recently undergone a £5.5 million equipment replacement programme including replacement of plain film rooms, CT, Interventional and Mobile equipment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for established Radiographers with NHS experience looking to increase their knowledge and work with state-of-the-art equipment following successful install of SPECT CT in Nuclear Medicine in January 24.

Main duties of the job
The Radiology Department undertakes approximately 251,300 examinations a year ranging over a variety of modalities. The successful applicant will be a keen team player who has image quality and patient care high on their agenda with a flexible approach to working hours. The department supports the development of your clinical skills and education, we encourage staff CPD.
The Great Western Hospital conducts diagnostic radiological examinations across a range of clinical specialities, adapting techniques to accommodate a range of patient types; both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multidisciplinary team, in a manner that meets professional, departmental and legal requirements.

1. To independently assess referrals under IR(ME)R following practitioner guidelines
2. To assist with daily organisation of departmental workload
3. To interpret Clinicians requirements and determine the appropriate imaging techniques. Ensure that examinations are performed in accordance with best practice and that resultant images are diagnostic
4. Ability to perform a range of diagnostic Nuclear Medicine examinations working under the ARSAC license holder and to complete all imaging within a timely manner
5. To administer intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous radiopharmaceuticals under the direction of the ARSAC license holder
6. To use the departmental radiology information computer system (CRIS) as required and be conversant with the picture archive communication system (PACS)
7. To undertake Quality Control procedures
8. To understand relevant radiation legislation (IRR and IR(ME)R) and maintain good radiation protection practices
9. To undertake and participate in clinical audit and research and to act on the findings where possible and provide statistical information on the work load when necessary
