Recruitment Project Lead - 6 Month fixed term contract / Secondment (Band 6 subject to experience, possible Band 5 development role)

The Recruitment team at The Great Western Hospitals NHS FT are looking for a Recruitment Project Lead for a 6-month fixed term period (until December 2024); The project will see the successful candidate oversee the end-to-end recruitment process for the roll out of the CDC recruitment project; recruiting approx. 67 WTE of new staff to support the running of the Trust Community Diagnostic Centre.

Main duties of the job

Please ensure you refer to the Job description for a full overview of the role;

  1. Supporting project team leads to develop and manage a recruitment plan for the CDC roles against service needs.
  2. Design campaigns to target individual hard-to-fill/specialist/skills shortage roles. This will include attractive advert wording, identifying innovative ways to connect with potential candidates, social media campaigns.
  3. Develop an understanding of the CDC and services to support targeted recruitment.
  4. Managing and report progress of pipeline and vacancies against plan and cost centres
  5. Work closely with service leads and responding to changes to project timescales as required.
  6. Act independently to manage the provision of high-quality advice and support to managers that adheres to best practice and promotes the effective delivery of recruitment policies and procedures.
  7. Establish, develop, and maintain excellent communication and working relationships at all levels with the Trust and with wider stakeholders and partners.
  8. Manage workload effectively within an often-pressurised environment and ensure all deadlines are met despite competing and challenging deadlines. There will be a frequent requirement for concentration coupled with an unpredictable work pattern that will be subject to regular interruptions and queries that may require a change of direction and workload to meet new or conflicting priorities.

  • oEducated to degree level or equivalent
  • oFurther post graduate diploma level qualification or equivalent level of experience and training.

Desirable

  • oMembership of the CIPD.
  • oParticipation in regular local NAMPS meetings.

Experience

  • oSignificant experience of working within a busy Recruitment / HR department.
  • oExperience of providing recruitment advice to managers and candidates.
  • oExperience of managing a team.

Desirable

  • oExperience in an NHS or public sector environment.
  • oAbility to use NHS recruitment tools such as NHS Jobs and TRAC.
  • oAbility to use ESR.
  • oMedical Workforce knowledge acquired through relevant training and experience including an in depth knowledge of Medical recruitment

  • oAbility to research and write clear and concise reports. oAbility to work without supervision. oStrong IT skills, proficient in MS Office packages. oAbility to undertake challenging conversations. oStrong negotiation and influencing skills. oGood organisational skills and the ability to delegate when required.
