We are delighted to provide an exciting opportunity for up to20 enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our September 2024cohort on the Trainee Nursing Associate Apprenticeship Programme in partnership with Oxford Brookes University Swindon campus.

The nursing associate higher apprenticeship broadens available routes into the healthcare profession and helps both new and existing healthcare employees take the next step in their career by developing their skills, knowledge, and experience.

Candidates will be enrolled onto a two-year foundation degree (FdSc). Nursing Associates are accountable for their own practice and are regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. This Apprenticeship is ideal for new and existing healthcare support workers interested in being at the forefront of evidence-informed clinical practice at one of Swindon's lead employers.

Entry Requirements for the Nursing Associate Higher Apprenticeship are:

  • Be able to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • Have resided in the Uk for a minimum of the last 3 Years

Qualifications:

  • Completed a work based Level 3 Qualification relevant to Heath and social care OR a Level 3 NVQ or Other in Health and social care OR T -Level /BTEC A-Level qualifications in human biology/health and social care subjects.
  • Passed GCSE Math's and English 4 (C) or above or equivalent
  • Completed the Care Certificate OR working toward (must be completed before enrolment

This opportunity is a development role, from Trainee Nursing Associate (TNA) to Registered Nursing Associate (RNA). During the apprenticeship, you will work with our allocated learning provider towards the NMC's Standards of proficiency for Nursing Associates.

This training programme combines both academic and work based learning in the physical, psychological, and public health aspects of care from the pre-conception to the end of life. Apprentices will attend campus one day a week and will complete 480 hours of contrasting placements across the programme duration.

During the two years, you must complete at least 2,300 programme hours which are divided to achieve an equal balance of theory and practice learning. To meet the requirements of the training programme, TNAs must work in a range of settings and situations to gain as much experience as possible.

The trainee will work towards progression into the post of Nursing Associate through successfulcompletion of the Nursing Associate training programme which includes the attainment of a level 5 Foundation Degree equivalent qualification.

They will develop and maintain knowledge, skills and competencies related to the role of Nursing Associate within the service and through completion of the Nursing Associate training programme.
