An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for a Medical Typist who is highly motivated, positive, friendly and flexible. Someone who can work effectively using their own initiative, as well as being part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to multi-task with high attention to detail in this fast paced role.
Your role is to provide a comprehensive typing service to support the Women & Children's Administrative department. We are happy to offer a full time or part time post. After an initial training period the post may have the opportunity to work from home for part of the week.
We are a friendly team looking for a reliable and enthusiastic person to join us who will be mainly typing clinical letters. Experience of Microsoft packages would be an advantage.
The post will be an integral part of the Surgery, Women & Children's Division, providing an efficient service to the Division in support of the work of Clinical Staff to maximise patient care. The successful applicant(s) will be working as a Medical Typist within the Women & Children's Administrative Team.
Main duties of the job
Your role will be to provide a comprehensive typing service which will involve typing clinic letters and other related documents with high accuracy and in line with agreed Trust targets.
The ideal candidate should have good communication skills and be able to prioritise their own workload. GCSE in English and RSA Typing or equivalent keyboards skills are essential. Previous NHS experience and a knowledge of medical terminology are desirable. Audio typing experience and use of Microsoft packages are essential.
